Inspired by the commendable vision of Honorable Shri Sanjibhai Rupjibhai Delkar, a man with fine personal qualities and high moral principles, and the dream of Late. Shri Mohan S Delkar, to serve the people of the territory of UT of D&NH, the journey of SSR Campus began in the year 2006.

Shri Sanjibhai Rupjibhai Delkar lead the revolution for the freedom of Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and got the deserved and awaited freedom from the Portuguese Reign. Due to his incessent service to mankind he was nominated as the 1st Member of Parliament of Dadra and Nagar Haveli by the 1st Prime Minister of India Shri. Jawaharlal Nehru for a period of 1961- 1965. He continued his efforts in betterment of this territory and was elected again to represent Dadra and Nagar Haveli to the Loksabha for the period from 1965-1971.The man with the most optimistic vision wanted to create a world of education where all the deserving students can be provided an opportunity to study, as he believed that education is the backbone for development of all kinds. He realized that the biggest requisite of the tribal people was education, this lead him to dream about Silvassa fully equipped with the good quality of education at the most affordable cost.

Late Shri Mohan S Delkar, a Member of Parliament for Seven Terms, cherished this dream of his father and established SSR Memorial Trust for the benefit of tribal as well as all the communities residing in the UT of D&NH.

SSR Memorial Trust runs the following institutes:

  • SSR College of Art, Commerce & Science (founded in the year 2006)
  • SSR College of Pharmacy (founded in the year 2007)
  • SSR College of Education (founded in the year 2007)
  • SSR College of Management & Research (founded in the year 2008)

All these institutes are affiliated with the Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune. These institutions are working vigorously to impart quality education, keeping in tune with the noble philosophy of our beloved patron. From  the very inception of SSR Memorial Trust, the motto of विद्या सर्वस्य भूषणम (Knowledge is Ornament for all) has been a guiding principle to engage itself in academic and intellectual pursuits.
