A man with fine personal qualities and high moral principles lead the revolution for the freedom of Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and got the deserved and awaited freedom from the Portuguese. This revolutionary was nominated as the 1st Member of Parliament of Dadra and Nagar Haveli by the 1st Prime Minister of India Shri. Jawaharlal Nehru for a period of 1961- 1965. He continued his efforts in imposing magnificent and was elected again to represent Dadra and Nagar Haveli to the Loksabha for the period from 1965-1971.The man with the most optimistic vision wanted to create a world of education where all the deserving students can be provided an opportunity to study upto her / his will, as he believed that education is the backbone for development of all kinds.
Shri Sanjibhai Rupjibhai Delkar possessed a very humble background belonging to the agriculturist family of the native of Dadra and Nagar Haveli. Basically D & N. H. being a tribal land, the concept of education is very recent one here. During the childhood of Shri Sanjibhai, education was an obliterate concept. But still be developed a strong sense of attachment towards education, though he was not exposed to any source of the same.
The only means of education were the government primary school and that to very few. But since belonging to agricultural family, be learnt the virtues of hard work, sincerity and diligence from his childhood itself, Imbibing this features from his parents. He attained mental maturity far early from his peers. He was deeply involved in social activities as he felt for the masses and tried always to be with them in their joy and sorrows and at the same time be promoted developmental plans to uplift the tribal masses so as to lead them to the path of better living.
He devoted all his energies and wisdom in channelizing the potential of the tribal youth and elders to bring about the revolutionary change in their life by making them aware of their rights and duties towards the society.
He had realized that the biggest requirement of the tribal people was education amongst the masses, this recognition of the degree of importance of education lead him to dream about Silvassa fully equipped with the highest level of source of education at the most affordable cost.
He dreamt and his son honorable Shri Mohan S Delkar who has inherited the love for the common man and the urge to help them always, from his father, has precipitated his loving fathers dream for visualizing Silvassa â€“ as a heaven for education.
