Botany

The department of Botany was established in the year 2006. The department was established with the point of view to cover all aspects of plant life. The basic branches of Botany like Plant Genetics, Molecular Biology, Plant Breeding, Plant Tissue Culture, Plant Physiology, Plant Pathology, Plant Taxonomy, Plant Morphology and Anatomy, Plant Ecology, Seed technology, Horticulture and Industrial Botany will be majorly studied under this field.

Botany is an interdisciplinary approach and covers knowledge of Genetics and Molecular Biology, Plant Biotechnology, Biostatistics, Biophysics, Bioinformatics & Plant Biochemistry, etc.

Seminar

Department of Botany organized Seminar on “Environmental Biology & Climate change on the date of 28/12/2018. In this seminar student from FY, SY & TY BSc. participated (Total Students -105).

Workshop

Department of Botany organized Three days workshop on Handling and Operation System of High-Performance Liquid Chromatography on the date of 26/04/20219 to 29/04/2019. In this workshop students from FY, SY & TY BSc. participated actively (Total participants – 42).

National Conference

Department of Botany organized two days National E-Conference on 26th & 27th March 2021, on the topic “Recent Advances & Opportunities in Botany” (NCRAOB 2021). The National E-Conference was conducted in 2 days & total 4 sessions, chaired by different eminent resource person. Total 185 participants registered for this conference, including 08 resource persons and 15 organizing team members (Total 208).

Plantation

Department of Botany organizing the Tree plantation programme on every year on the occasion of Agricultural day.

Environmental Day Celebration

Department of Botany organizing Environmental day every year on the date of 5th June. Students from FY, SY & TY BSc. participating every actively in this event.

The botanical excursion was organized by department of Botany on the date of 16/02/2016 along with SY. BSc. & TY BSc. Students (Total students – 44) at Vaghai Botanical Garden & Saputara (Gujarat).

The botanical excursion was organized by department of Botany on the date of 18/02/2017 along with SY. BSc. & TY BSc. Students (Total students – 52) at Vaghai Botanical Garden & Saputara (Gujarat).

Botanical Excursion– year –2018-19

The botanical excursion was organized by department of Botany on the date of 09/02/2019 along with TY BSc. Students (Total students – 05) at The Institute of Science Mumbai 32.

The botanical excursion was organized by department of Botany on the date of 25/02/2020 along with SY & TY BSc. Students (Total students – 48) at The Institute of Science Mumbai 32.
